Silicon Valley Photonics, Ltd. is proud to announce a series of short courses in association with leading universities:

The ABCs of Fiber Optics

This series introduces the fundamentals of optical fiber and fiber-optic devices and is intended to demystify this technology for nontechnical as well as technical individuals. This is an introductory course that provides an up-to-date, in-depth review of photonics technology, with a minimum of mathematics.

The objective is to understand the basics of photonic technology, how it works, how it's manufactured, who the key players are, how photonic devices are combined to make larger systems, and when they have practical limitations. You gain an understanding of the fundamental concepts and terminology of fiber-optic technology. Enrollment is limited and advance enrollment is required.
